System integrations and data handovers
An order reaches the connection but cannot reach fulfilment because a delivery contact is missing. Staff discover the unfinished work through a complaint. We can build an integration whose first useful result is a manageable exception queue, with a clear next action for the people handling those orders.
Design the unfinished work first
Use three fictional cases for an Estonian supplier: missing information, an unavailable destination and a suspected duplicate. The office needs to distinguish a request needing a correction from a transfer waiting for the supplier system. “Connection failed” is not enough to decide what to do. We agree a useful status, responsible role and safe supporting detail for each case.
A paid investigation can inspect actual account capabilities and design this handling process before enabling new automatic writes. A limited implementation might connect one order handover and its exception view. The proposal names the supported tools and the parts that remain manual.
Decide when another attempt is safe
If the destination received an order but its acknowledgment was lost, repeating the action could create a second order. Agree how to check the existing identity and when a person must resolve uncertainty. Correcting missing information may trigger a retry or require approval; that choice belongs to the actual business and provider arrangement.
Rehearse the queue as a working day
Ask the team to resolve the three sample cases, including one already being investigated by a colleague. Check that the source record, destination and visible queue agree on what remains unfinished. We include appropriate operational instructions and ownership in the agreed scope. Bring the repeated handover and available provider documentation; the exception-queue article shows the questions to prepare.
Agree the handover vocabulary.
If one team works in Estonian and an external system labels fields in English, record the meaning of each transferred value. Preserve the original identifier and show an exception when the destination cannot interpret it.
